I’m thrilled to welcome Phil McIntosh from Gears and Beers to the Eventualities podcast this week.

Cycle enthusiasts from across the country gather annually in Wagga Wagga, NSW on the October long weekend for what is fast becoming one of the premier cycling events. The annual Gears and Beers Festival is a community cycle challenge, combined with a craft beer and cider Festival. The event is conceived and run by the Rotary Club of Wollundry Wagga Wagga.

In this episode, Phil talks about:

  • The history of the event
  • The growing popularity of cycling events
  • Volunteers and having multiple Rotary clubs and other community groups readily able to assist
  • Marketing
  • The 2020 event and where to from here
  • Community and the people that help make Gear and Beers what it is

Phil is such a genuine and lovely guy who is so community-minded and is extremely passionate about this amazing event he has created and continues to grow. I hope you enjoy this episode.
