"A Tale of Two Cities" is a novel by Charles Dickens set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution. The novel tells the story of Charles Darnay, a French aristocrat, and Sydney Carton, a drunken lawyer, and their relationships with Lucie Manette, a French woman who has been imprisoned in the Bastille for 18 years.
