Are you interested in becoming a Hollywood producer? If so, this week’s guest will inspire you to get to work and start building your craft.
Patrick Newall began his career in the indie arena upon his move to L.A. over two decades ago. His first film was one which he not only produced, but also wrote and co-starred opposite Oscar-winner Olympia Dukakis and Tony Award winner Philip Bosco — “Brooklyn Sonnet.” Over the years, Newall has gone on to produce or executive produce over two dozen motion pictures, collaborating with notable filmmakers and actors.
In this episode, Patrick and I talk about how he first got the itch to head to Hollywood, how he accidentally became a producer, and what he recommends to all aspiring Hollywood professionals. Patrick is currently producing 'The Gray Man' based on the novel and stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in the lead roles. The film is set to be distributed and streamed by Netflix, with a production budget of $200 million, making it the most expensive film ever made by Netflix.
Tune in to Episode 25 of Hollywood Dream Maker to learn about Patrick’s perspective on working in Hollywood, the many hats that a producer wears in the making of a film, and how you can make your own opportunities!
