Our Editor's Take

Arseblog Arsecast, The Arsenal Podcast is a Premier League soccer podcast. Arsenal is one of the most famous teams in England. Its fanbase is fiercely devoted to the team. Many of them have been rooting for the London team for several decades. This show is the official podcast of Arseblog.com. The Irish Independent has named the site "the most-consumed football fan content in world football." (Most of the world calls soccer "football.")

Andrew Mangan and James McNicholas host the podcast. Mangan is a blogger, voice actor, and writer from London. He started the site while living abroad in Barcelona in 2002. Over the next several years, it became one of the most visited soccer websites in the world. McNicholas is an actor, comedian, and writer. His one-person comedy show, The Boxer, played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019. He also has a recurring role in the third season of the popular Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso.

As one can tell from the show's name, this podcast does not take itself seriously. The show offers analysis and commentary about Arsenal soccer players and games. It does so in a humorous fashion. This stands to reason when one of the two hosts is a comedian. The duo will sometimes even sing funny parody songs about the team.

Podcast guests are often sportswriters or journalists. Many of them have been writing about the team for decades. Author Charles Watts and journalist Ken Early are two of the show's more notable names. The show also discusses the Arsenal women's soccer team.

Arseblog Arsecast, The Arsenal Podcast is a fun and fast-paced overview of this beloved team. New episodes air Mondays and Fridays throughout the year. Each episode averages around 90 minutes in length.

Episode 811 - Hale End Gems
In this episode I'm joined by Phil Costa to discuss Arsenal's 3-0 win over Monaco on Wednesday evening. We begin with the decision to start Myles Lewis-Skelly, his role in the opening goal, and assess what was a very promising performance from the 18 year old, before discussing the first half chances which should have seen the Gunners have the gamn won by the break. Then there's analysis of Monaco's second half improvement, the change that really shifted the dynamic back in our favour, the impact yet again of Bukayo Saka and lots more. Then I chat to David Squires, whose weekly Guardian cartoons have entertained us all down the years. He has a new book out, so we chat about some his process, how the madness of football provides a constant mine for his creative talents, and some of his Arsenal drawings. You can also win a copy of the new book 'Chaos in the Box: Chronicles from Modern Football' - which you can pick up now at your local independent bookstore.EXCLUSIVE NordVPN Deal ➼ https://nordvpn.com/arseblog Try it risk-free now with a 30-day money-back guarantee!Get your Goodly Morning mug here – https://www.redbubble.com/i/mug/Goodly-Morning-Mug-2024-by-arseblog/166259371.W3OIY – and help support Oscar's Kids and Children's Hospices Across London.
