Caroline Criado Perez has spent years investigating the gender data gap – and how women are simply forgotten in a world designed for men. Her best-selling book, Invisible Women, was published to critical acclaim, and Caroline was inundated with readers sharing their own stories of the “default male”.
In her new podcast Caroline investigates what happens next: how can we close the gender data gap and design a world that works for everyone? Caroline will hunt for missing data, get in fights with manufacturing companies, and find the people who are working to close the gender data gap. You'll hear expert guests, gripping stories, and plenty of inspiration.

In her book Invisible Women, Caroline Criado Perez explores the gender data gap. She explains how men are the default in much of the world's design. Her podcast, Visible Women with Caroline Criado Perez, asks how to fix the problem. Caroline is a UK-based writer who speaks on feminism in modern society. She wants to make those invisible women visible.
Many decisions throughout history have a “default male” model in mind. Car safety tests are performed on "default male" crash dummies. In the past, male bodies have been the focus of medical research. Men have been the "human default" in public space design. This “male default” design does not account for women’s needs in society. After her book explains these things, Visible Women explores how to make it better.
A feminist author, Caroline examines these gender inequalities in her podcast. Visible Women with Caroline Criado Perez explains the history of these topics. In “Contraceptive Headache,” she asks why women’s contraception has so many problems. She asked why there have been so few modern advances in the products.
In “Concussed Female Brain,” Caroline explores why concussion presents differently in women. Then, she explains how this can be dangerous. The podcast episode reveals a sad fact about these concussions. Many of them come from domestic violence.
“Murderous Menstrual Blood” asks why periods still remain taboo in the 21st century. The episode “Are pianos sexist?” explores how musical instrument design can create barriers for female musicians.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Caroline says she heard from many female medical professionals who could not find PPEs that fit them. Other show topics include why women's restroom lines are so much longer than men's. While Visible Women with Caroline Criado Perez does not have any new episodes since 2022, its archive is timeless and important.
