With our Romance theme properly done and dusted, we enter a nebulous BONUS EPISODE zone, where Joseph can hold delicious court over a trial of The Room, during which George loses his mind and Martyn loses his catchphrase. This one's loopy, gang.

And so the Romance in Film series comes to its elegant, perfectly ambivalent end - some of us High on it, others of us Low on it, and still more of us outright "No" on the whole affair. But luckily, this week's film, 1953's Roman Holiday (starring Audrey Hepburn in her first lead role in a Hollywood film, winning her the Oscar for Best Actress) has our hosts basically agreeing!

Dread it. Run from it. It arrives just the same. The Jane Austen adaptation episode. Except hold up there, poor man's Thanos! This movie is great, and really entertaining! And we have a lot to say about it, and by we, we mean George. Hold onto your butts.

1997's My Best Friend's Wedding was a hit, a comeback for star Julie Roberts, and remains one of the most surprisingly subversive romantic-comedies to have been produced in the Hollywood system.... or is it?! Well, you know what happens next.

You gotta be careful with nice voices you hear in headphones on this week's episode - sometimes, they ask you to choke them with a dead cat, sometimes they ask if a thing is High, Low, or No Art, and sometimes they're Scarlett Johannson telling you they've enjoyed your relationship but they have to go now, they've achieved singularity.  Yes, this week Joseph, Martyn, and George are taking up Spike Jonze's 2013 sci-fi romance Her - have we all been there when it comes to dead cats and kinks? Are robot women's voices to be trusted? Is this the week Joseph finally murders George?

This week - the last of June, in an incredibly unseasonal choice of film - Joseph, George, and Martyn gather to discuss the 2006 Christmas vacation fantasy that is Nancy Myers' The Holiday. A conversation that is as immediately derailed and dominated by Cameron Diaz's performance as the movie itself. Is "Amanda-Woods" one word, or two? Did Nancy cheapen out Jack Black and not let him and Kate get kissy? Is 16 episodes into the show really the best time for our three hosts to describe their own takes on the very premise of their podcast? A holiday - what a concept!

Hitting our stride at the midpoint of the Romance in Film season, we dive into the shallow pool of 2009's The Ugly Truth, only to find ourselves lost in the middle of an ocean of misogyny. Just how did this movie get made? We don't know, and boy, we've got questions: How did it make $200 million worldwide? Is it trying to be more of a comedy than a romance? Is Gerard Butler a nice guy who just oozes toxic masculinity? Did this movie break Martyn beyond repair?

On George's birthday, all three hosts (feeling moderately existential) recorded this episode in the Romance in Film series, on 2022's The Worst Person In The World. Shocked this made the cut in the romance genre? Well, we talked about it. As well as how pretty Oslo looks, what Martyn thought of his first foreign-language viewing experience, and whether it is or isn't cheating to smell someone's sweat.

Has Martyn found a new love for a genre he used to arch an eyebrow at? Is it feminist to not want a boyfriend? And how many relationships have our hosts had, casual or not casual? Answers will be given...

We're back, and we're hungry. Hungry for LOVE! In the first of our ten episode run through Romance in Film, we ask if 2017's Phantom Thread is the highest art of anything we've yet covered? Is Reynolds Woodcock a bachelor, or a baby? And is there a market for men being dommed into diarrhoea? All these questions and more will be asked, on this week's show.

Finally we have reached the end of the first season of High, Low or No? and what better way to celebrate the occasion than with Joel Schumachers' 1997 film Batman and Robin starring George Clooney as Gothams' favourite Vigilante. For one last time will George, Joseph and Martyn all agree on what they think of this film or will heated debate ensue on a film that has split audiences since it first came out 25 years ago.

In the penultimate episode of High, Low or No's first season is the first part of a Batman double bill. Batman V Superman is Zack Snyders second entry into the DCEU and divided opinion for a number of reasons when it was first released in March 2016. What exactly will George, Joseph and Martyn think? Will they agree with the masses and their lukewarm reception to this portrayal of 2 of the most iconic comic book characters or will find themselves on the other side of the fence believing this to be a masterful adaptation that truly serves its purpose? As we slowly approach the end of the superhero season this week sees George, Joseph and Martyn discuss Constantine, a 2005 film directed by Francis Lawrence with Keanu Reeves playing the titular role. In a change of pace for this season themes of religion, the occult and the supernatural dominate the film compared to the lighthearted fun of Kick-Ass and Venom.

This weeks topic of discussion is Venom (2018) directed by Ruben Fleischer. Will Joseph hate this film as predicted by George and Martyn or will he surprise everyone with a new found love for everyones favourite symbiote? Has Martyn actually watched the film this week?
