Today we are fortunate to have with us a newly elected Representative to Florida House District 5, Shane Abbott.  Shane is a pharmacist who graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) College of Pharmacy in 1998 and became the co-owner of the Prescription Place in DeFuniak Springs.  He has served as vice-chair of the Northwest Florida State College Board of Trustees and on the board of the Emerald Coast Fellowship of Christian Athletes.   I know everyone is excited to hear a few words from Shane today as we talk about his journey from independent pharmacy owner pharmacist to politician and discuss ways in which other pharmacists and pharmacy students can get involved in the process.  Welcome, Shane!
