Clarissa Culberson - USA
In this episode we cover the tragic story of Clarissa ‘Carrie’ Culberson, a 22 year old woman who vanished without trace from her home in Blanchester Ohio, after a night spent partying with friends in 1996. Carrie was murdered by her boyfriend Vincent Doan, a local man she’d been seeing on and off for two years, someone with a rap sheet longer than he was tall. We normally don’t cover murder cases on ‘The Missing’ but Carrie’s mother Deb’s decades long effort to locate her daughter’s body, means there is still very much a question mark at the heart of this case. We spoke to Deb about her decision to continue her quest for the truth, one that won’t stop until her daughter is laid properly to rest. This episode is supported by Doe Network. Charles Horvath-Allan - Canada
In this episode, we recount the story of Charles Horvath-Allan, a 20 year old British man, who in 1989, left his home to hike across Canada, and has been missing ever since. Charles had made it as far as the city of Kelowna, where he was last seen cashing a cheque at a bank in May. He was scheduled to meet his parents in Hong Kong that August. The fax he sent, detailing his excitement about their reunion and inquiring about the wellbeing of the family’s cats, was the last time they would ever hear from him. We spoke to his mother Denise, about her decades long investigation into British Columbia’s backpacking circuit and about the impact her tireless search for the truth about what happened to her son has had on her. This episode is supported by Doe Network. Steven Durand

Steven Durand
The first twenty-four hours of a missing person case are the most crucial. Its of vital importance that the authorities are working with the most accurate and up to date information in order to best direct their search efforts. Steven Durand was 31 when he went missing in Salford, in the North West of England. He was a mixed race man who walked with a limp, due to cerebral palsy. He had learning difficulties and mental health problems and was known to the local police as vulnerable. When the police first began searching for him, they mistakenly described him as white, later correcting the error but wasting valuable time and resources, looking for the wrong man. The last sighting of Steven was on October the 20th, 2018. He was captured on CCTV, wearing a black coat, and grey sweatpants, holding a can of fizzy drink that he then purchased. Salford was not an area Steven usually visited - his family have no idea why he was there. And they are yet to find out. Because that CCTV footage of Steven? It’s the last anyone ever saw of him.For more information on this case, and every episode from every series visit https://themissingpodcast.orgAnd to visit details of the most recent appeals - like the one you may have heard in this episode, please visit : https://missingpeople.org.uk/recentIf you want to listen to The Missing COMPLETELY ad-free, and help to support the show, then please subscribe to our channel. The Missing + is your home for the very best in true-crime podcasts. Charlene Downes

Charlene Downes
The disappearance of 14 year old schoolgirl Charlene Downes is one of the most notorious missing person cases in UK history. When Charlene vanished from Blackpool in the North West of England in November 2003, it resulted in a media frenzy, one monetized by tabloids cashing in on rumours and exploited for political purposes by the far-right. In the two decades since she vanished, countless theories have been suggested and dozens of suspects put forward, including members of Charlene’s own family. Very few missing person cases have received such coverage and scrutiny, yet, today, her loved ones are no closer to learning what happened to Charlene that night, than they were over twenty years ago.For more information on this case, and every episode from every series visit https://themissingpodcast.orgAnd to visit details of the most recent appeals - like the one you may have heard in this episode, please visit : https://missingpeople.org.uk/recentIf you want to listen to The Missing COMPLETELY ad-free, and help to support the show, then please subscribe to our channel. The Missing + is your home for the very best in true-crime podcasts.
