Today, Dianne interviews Karen Falbo and Caroline Cheong from Natural Grocers. Natural Grocers is one of our favorite places to find local and organic foods to feed our families. Karen is the Director of the Nutrition Education Department at Natural Grocers. She has a background in holistic nutrition after attending the National Institute of Nutrition Education in 1998 and the Natural Food Chef Program at NTI. She started working with Natural Grocers in 2002 as a Nutrition Health Coach and was soon promoted to the NHC Coordinator position. As the company has grown, so has Karen’s position. In her current role, she works with a team of 10 people and other departments within the organization to support NHC positions as well as strategizing, planning, coordinating, and helping execute projects and initiatives. Additionally, Karen helps with recipe management for the company.

Caroline is the Director of Nutritional Health Coach Regional Managers. Caroline graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She started with Natural grocers in 2012 as a Nutritional Health coach in Wichita, Kansas, and in 2015 was quickly promoted to her current position. She works with a team of 8 Nutritional Health Coach Regional Managers with territories across 161 stores and 20 different states. Her and her team are responsible for hiring and providing ongoing training and support for Nutritional Health Coaches and working with the Operations Team to assist at Natural Grocers locations. She also works with the Nutrition Education Department and other departments within the company to streamline communication, coordinate, and execute company initiatives.
