beyond the SPECTRUM - Episode 27: Figured it out! NOT!
Music by our Mikey ❤ We are almost caught up to present time - and certainly you were expecting that I had all the answers and that we had figured out EVERYTHING in this journey.  Of course you surely shouldn't have! LOL  But this episode once again takes you through the practical application of all the things we've learned along the way.  It was pretty neat going back to some of the things that we shared from the very beginning that he struggled with - and we struggled with, only to have us STILL dealing with those same things, with a bit more insight, a lot more wisdom (hopefully) and an appreciation that we had been RIGHT  in how we handled it from the start!  What a refreshing feeling!!! Not to say that we haven't continued to make mistakes - because if you've been following along, you know that we HAVE!  But - to know that in spite of the mistakes, we keep adjusting and fine-tuning and re-aligning ourselves with the right focus!  One more day to end my side of things, and then we'll hear from Mikey!  I had mentioned before if you have questions - to share... so, please do!  And if we get questions that are too late for the airing of the episode, then we might do a follow up episode, a week later as a little add-on.  But - we'll see what happens! In the meantime, I hope you're ready to finish up this audio journey with us and I hope that it's been helpful!  ❤, Dreem --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dreem-steem/support

beyond the SPECTRUM - Episode 20: Growing a funny bone
Have you ever had to explain a joke in such detail - it lost its allure?  Sure.  We've all had that happen. In dealing with a neurodivergent child, jokes often miss the mark. They can understand the pieces, and they can understand how they fit together. But to them, it's sort of like saying, hey - 2+2.  It equals 4!  That's hilarious, am I right??? They understand the parts and how the parts add up to give a sum. But a sum is not funny. It is the answer to a problem. We are a funny family.  Our household is FILLED with laughter. As a matter of fact, about 3 times out of the week, someone will make a pun at the dinner table, and then we all will jump all over that and add to the mix.  It gets so old, that it's not funny anymore - and then we drag it beyond its miserable death and breathe new life into it until we resurrect it with more laughter.  That's how silly we are.  That's how much we laugh.  So - was that part of the reason why Mikey began to develop his own flare?  Was laughter truly the best medicine to fix his funny bone?  I'll never know!  All I know is... my boy is funny now!  And it all began with his first joke. In honor of his first joke, I created some digital art to represent it. You can see it on my blog - or you can copy and paste the link below into a browser and see it!  Hope you like it... and if you have really really good eyes... you can see where I hid his name in the image.  hehehe https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/dreemsteem/EorzmDCVs9caY2Tq89NPgA7KPYRuDcgFNWCUZNXH9bpNXhtghTjwxX6RexF1dUZPFuZ.png Happy hunting! ❤️ Dreem --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dreem-steem/support
