In the 1960s and 1970s, Aspen, Colorado gained a reputation as a trendy hotbed of hippies, beautiful people, liberal politics, and even more liberal drug use. It was a powdery playground for some of the country’s greatest downhill skiers, as well as some of the country’s most famous people looking for some anonymous R&R. And Aspen was all fun and games until the day that America’s most handsome and famous skier, Spider Sabich, was shot dead in his home.
