Close your eyes and take a breath, And clear all thoughts from your mind. PAUSE… You’ve been working so very hard, For hours and likely days. You go and go and go some more, Toiling in so many different ways. PAUSE… It’s easy to fall into a pattern, With no room for checking in. You see to the needs of so many others, And then forget to look within. PAUSE… Your heart is in the right place, Your intentions are the best. You don’t mean to neglect yourself, As you do so much work without rest. PAUSE… But the time has come to make a change, To turn your attention inward. Use this time, this twilight time, To recoup what’s been deferred. PAUSE… Start by being still and quiet, Let your body slow its pace. From mind to heart to muscles and cells, Give yourself some space. PAUSE… Listen to sound of your breathing, Tune into the gentle beat of your heart. Hear your body’s music, As you let the background noise depart. PAUSE… When you feel in touch with your rhythm, When you feel calm and serene, Let your mind drift where it wants, See what secrets are begging to be seen. PAUSE… Look at the things you’ve held out of sight, As you’ve rushed to keep up with the world. Look for what needs your attention, For the thoughts that have gone unheard.   Take a breath and savor it, enjoy the chance to breathe. Exhale that breath and feel release, the kind your body craves. LONG PAUSE… Think about what’s been missing for you, In recent days and weeks. Think about what fell to the bottom of the list, As the squeaky wheel got its grease. PAUSE… It’s only human nature, To respond to what calls your name. But when those calls never seem to cease, It’s your spirit that feels the pain. PAUSE… There’s a special kind of exhaustion, That results from over-serving. Once it starts, it’s tough to stop, And even harder to feel deserving. PAUSE… Though it may seem scary to make a change, It doesn’t have to be drastic. Instead of throwing things out of your life, You can try a softer tactic. PAUSE… Use this time at the end of each day, To bring your thoughts back to you. Choose a yearning that went unseen, And make a promise to see it through. PAUSE… Tune in to what your soul is whispering. Listen to what it’s prompting you to do. Imagine how it would feel to take a leap, To explore something exciting and new. PAUSE… Even more than the novelty, What matters is the choice. To hear what your spirit needs from you, Is the first step toward finding your voice. PAUSE… It takes quite a bit of practice, To make yourself a priority. But each tiny step has massive power, Each one gives more authority. PAUSE… Though life would have us ignore these clues, To do so takes a toll. Once you learn to consult yourself, You’re on the path to being whole.   Breathe in and imagine being whole, the fulfilled being you’re meant to be. Breathe out and know it’s possible, that you need only hear your own plea. LONG PAUSE… It’s all about getting started, About taking the time for yourself. To learn what you need and embrace it, Even when the world demands something else. PAUSE… If you’re truly honest with yourself, Much of what you need comes as no surprise. Whether a longtime yearning or a recent must, You’ve likely been ignoring the signs. PAUSE… Time just feels so limited, Growing shorter each day and year. It’s a difficult job to prioritize tasks, And your desire to do it all is sincere. This is me, drowning in tasks, I need to come up for some air.  PAUSE… All of it swirls, all of it spins, And blends like waves in the sea. The older I get, the more that I love, The perfectly imperfect me.  I’ve spent too much time,  Wondering if I could, Change some things about me. PAUSE… But time has taught me,  That each time I try, To be anything other than me, My soul slowly corrodes,  My light slowly dims,  And I can no longer see.  LONG PAUSE… I’ve been told I’m too much, My dreams are too big,  My scars should make me ashamed.  Turn down the volume,  And stay in your box, So we know you’ve been tamed.  PAUSE… But each scar I have,  Paints a tapestry, Of my life lived loud and free.  I won’t let you tell me, They’re ugly or wrong, I’m proud ‘cause this is me. Let it wrap in and around you. LONG PAUSE Now, let your mind surrender. Let go of all distracting thoughts. Let them float away like clouds. LONG PAUSE Stay with the peace and relaxation in your body. Just allow yourself to melt into your bed. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine, if you can, walking in the cool, crispness of the night. The air is clear, and your path is lit by a full moon and thousands of glistening stars. PAUSE And, as you walk, there is something comforting about the night, something peaceful and protective, like a child’s favorite blanket. And you embrace those feelings. PAUSE In the sky, the moon in its other-worldly glow is a steady light, silvery blue, with the shadow of a cloud  passing by, every now and then. PAUSE The stars wrap around the velvety night sky, like twinkling lights around a tree. Each tiny twinkle brings a greater sense of peace. PAUSE The night is loud in its silence. In a comforting, protective way, A way that lets you know you are safe in the silence. PAUSE As you walk, you notice the quiet shadows cast by the moon. Shadows of trees. Shadows of bushes. Shadows of you. You acknowledge the shadows with gratitude. PAUSE You inhale the breath of the night– feeling the coolness tickle your lungs, and smiling at the  scent of earth and foliage that ascend into your awareness. PAUSE There are no boundaries between you and the night. All parts of you are part of the night. PAUSE A tiny breeze breaks the silence, A breeze filled with whispers and secrets of the night. PAUSE The breeze teases you with… What has happened. What is happening. What will happen. All this knowledge is woven into the fabric of the night. All this knowledge is woven into your being. PAUSE After a moment, some rustling in the bushes breaks the silence. Out darts a fox foraging for food. PAUSE The fox pauses, looking at you, with the moonlight reflecting in his dark eyes. Then he scurries along, Knowing he is safe. Knowing that you are part of the night. PAUSE As you walk, water ripples softly  in the distance. You walk toward it;  Stopping at a tiny brook bubbling her truth  for anyone or thing that will listen. PAUSE You wait by the brook, fascinated by the  shimmering of light in the water. The moon and stars dance for you in the water. PAUSE You continue walking, with the cloak of night gently draped around you. With the peace of night securely in you. And with the mysteries of night moving you to know more. You and the night are one, Moving together in grace. Moving together in silence. Moving together in peace. Now. And always. LONG PAUSE And as you hear your heart, shift your focus to connect with your body, and notice your mind and body are synching together and relaxing. LONG PAUSE Now, take a moment, and feel the calm of the night gently moving through you. Stay with this feeling. LONG PAUSE Now, draw in a breath, and envision yourself  catching sight of a moonbeam that finds its way in room dancing past the curtains. PAUSE It looks like a silvery slide, and as the curtains move, ever so slightly, so does the moonbeam, pulsing rhythmically like it was dancing the Charleston. PAUSE And as the moonbeam dances, you can feel the  shimmering pulse of its beat, a pulse that connects you with this orb of intuition, the moon. PAUSE After a moment, a vision of the moon appears before you, A sliver of light captivating you. PAUSE And as the slender curve of light  rests before you, there’s a feeling of  power that it brings. PAUSE It doesn’t matter that it’s just a moon in its early phase: It awakens intuition and awareness within you, powers that want to grow. PAUSE And then, imagine that  the suspended moon expands, so that half the orb is bathed in sterling light. PAUSE And as the moon grows to the first quarter phase, so do your desires to create. PAUSE Drawing in a breath, you see yourself writing, painting, sculpting, drawing, anything that taps your  creative, intuitive spirit, or potentiates growth, comes alive in you. PAUSE And as your creations, of thought and physical form blossom, so does your confidence. There’s a growing sense within  that you stand tall and feel empowered to take on the world. PAUSE The moonlight shimmies, and before you unfolds a stunning full moon, resplendent in its pearlescent glow. PAUSE As the moon dances, and illuminates the room, it casts the light of awareness in and around you. PAUSE You become aware that  the seeds of your creations are far-reaching and can impact others. PAUSE The full moon also lets you see what else you might want to do, the things you want to change, and how to make  what you want in the world better. PAUSE After shining brightly for a while, the moon wriggles and  some of its light dims. half of its light is gone, as it is now a third-quarter moon. PAUSE And despite the change in light, you feel inspired to take stock of your work, and implement some of the changes that the full moon has brought into awareness. Think about those changes. PAUSE Inspiration glows inside you and continues to move you, helping you become more aware and grow even more. You feel inspired and in charge of your life. PAUSE The moonlight pauses again, this time dimming back to  the sliver of light  it began with. This cycle is ending. PAUSE And with this phase, you feel a sense of accomplishment, a sense that your work, your creations,  were worth it. PAUSE You embrace this feeling and reflect on it, as it brings stillness and peace into your heart.  PAUSE And though the moon dims further until it bears no light, you feel its light shimmering, pulsing within you, and you know that the cycle will ignite again soon. Letting go of the day behind you,  And embracing the calm of the night ahead. So relax your body and close your eyes, And let’s begin with setting an intention for deep, nourishing sleep tonight, Releasing any resistance your body or your mind might have. Allow your body to sink a little further into your bed,  Adjusting yourself if needed to release any discomfort, And take a deep breath in, filling your body with fresh air all the way down to your toes, And as you exhale, feel yourself releasing the day, and relaxing even deeper. Another deep breath in, And release it all on your exhale, melting further into your bed. Let your breathing settle into a natural, easy rhythm as you follow the slow cadence of your body. Breathe in and expand, Breathe out and release, Expand, Release. Breathe in. Breathe out. PAUSE… Become aware of the softness underneath you, The way your body curves into comfort, The way your bed meets the heaviest parts of you with love, Welcoming your legs, Your hips, Your arms, And your head into deeper relaxation. Breathe… PAUSE… Slowly you feel the soft clouds of your bed curling lightly over your limbs, Embracing you with a soothing coolness. You are safe here, You are whole here, At home with yourself, Ready to surrender to where the clouds of sleep will take you. Feel your face relax, Your shoulders drop, Your back melt, Your legs and arms soften. And allow yourself to relax into the clouds of sleep awaiting you. PAUSE… The dark blue sky surrounds you, Covering you in the deep silence of the night, Quieting any of those thoughts that may be moving around in your mind. Release them into the nighttime sky, Watching them disappear amongst the stars. And float slowly on your sleepy cloud, Feeling your body hum with the warmth of sleep. Sleep, Deep sleep. PAUSE… Let yourself fall further into the mist of the clouds, Inviting the softness to take you to dreamland. Floating, Relaxing, Melting. Deep sleep. So go ahead and let your body settle into your favorite sleeping position, On your back, stomach or side. Let yourself move around a little bit, nestling yourself even deeper into your position. And when you’ve found that sweet spot that you know so well, take a deep breath in, And as you exhale, release your body further and feel it melt into your bed.  PAUSE… Listen to your breathing.  Hear the soft hums of the air going in and out of your nose.  Feel your chest and belly expanding and contracting. And feel your body getting heavier with every breath out. Breathe… PAUSE… Maybe there are parts of you that are hurting tonight, my love.  Maybe your external or internal body is feeling weak or in pain. Perhaps your mind is holding things that are heavy. Maybe a part of your soul feels unsettled.  It’s all okay, beautiful. We can all feel a little broken sometimes. These moments cannot dim your light.  In fact, they make your light even brighter.  And your light is what is here to heal you.  PAUSE… So let yourself settle deeper into your bed and as you do, imagine that your body is easing into a warm pool of water.  See yourself comfortably floating in this quiet, still pool,  Feeling the gentle tickle of the water on the sides of your face and the crown of your head.  Let your arms relax into the water, letting them naturally spread and release. Let your chest, back and stomach surrender to the buoyancy of the water.  And let your legs open and your feet fall to the sides as you surrender yourself to the water.  PAUSE… You can feel the warm water soothe you. Relax you.   And as it does, you begin to feel a soft hum coming from the water, And see it glowing with a soft blue light.   Feel the blue light embrace you through the water, And invite it to take away the pain, the worries and the brokenness. PAUSE… See yourself lying in this pool glowing with soft blue light, Releasing the heaviness, And letting yourself be healed as you breathe.  PAUSE… Feel the warmth on your head as the healing blue light touches it, And then on your eyes, Your cheeks, Your mouth, And your neck.   Let it heal you. PAUSE… Feel the healing blue light touch your shoulders,  Your chest, Your arms and hands, Your stomach, And your hips. Breathe in this soft blue light and feel the warmth heal you, Feel it in your legs,  Your feet, And your toes.  And then imagine yourself covered completely in this soft, healing blue light.  Let it’s warm glow release all the pain,  The emotions, The brokenness.  Leave it here,  With the glowing blue light of the water.  It’s here to heal you. Close your eyes and slow your breath, Make room for calming peace. PAUSE… Focus on your body first, On the ease seeping into your limbs. Feel your muscles let go, one by one, Relaxing you from head to toe. PAUSE… Lay your hands atop your heart, Breathe in and give thanks for its strength. Tune in to its gentle, persistent beat, And let the rhythm pull you deeper within.  PAUSE… When your body feels fully grounded, Move your attention to your mind. Find the door to your imagination, Slowly open it and peer inside. PAUSE… Picture a place you’d like to go, Or even a long list of destinations. There are no limits to where you can go, When your dreams are leading the way. PAUSE… The places you choose may be real ones, Or they may be long-held fantasies. The only requirement is that they speak to you, That they promise adventure and delight. PAUSE… So settle on a spot that fills you with joy, Draw its outlines in your mind. Imagine the colors and shapes and smells, Let it come to life all around you. Take a deep breath and surrender, feel the magic start to build. Exhale and prepare to take a trip, to go where your wishes lead. LONG PAUSE… Perhaps those wishes live on a lush, green island, Surrounded by a misty blue sea. In the distance, a lofty treehouse awaits, While soft breezes beckon you closer. PAUSE… As your body soars toward paradise, Open your heart even further. Hear the birdsong, see the vibrant flowers, Become one with the tranquility of this place. PAUSE… Imagine landing gently on silky, pristine sand, Your feet settling into its warmth. See yourself walk into stunningly clear water, Gradually giving yourself to the waves. PAUSE… You lean back and float in the ocean, Drifting serenely under striking blue skies. You’re safe and at peace, completely content, Needing nothing but the beauty all around you. PAUSE… When you’ve had your fill of floating, Dry off with the help of bright sun. Make your way up to your treehouse retreat, Curl up and enjoy the leafy view. PAUSE… As you rest, your thoughts might wander, Imagining another lovely locale. Once again, the world is yours. You can go wherever inspiration takes you. PAUSE… Maybe you’re longing for rolling hills, Broad vistas dotted with trees. A warm, cozy cottage deep in the valley, Perched next to a bubbling stream. PAUSE… Ask your mind to take you there, To fly you where you long to be. Freedom is yours, especially now, When relaxation is what you need. Inhale and feel the joy of flight, of surging across the sky. Exhale and acknowledge the lightness in your heart, hope’s essence made real. LONG PAUSE… This time you land on velvety grass, A luxurious pillow beneath your feet. You stand and listen to the music of the stream, Let the water’s song fill your soul. PAUSE… All around you, the stunning landscape rises, Making you feel both small and immense. The core of you comes alive in this place, And your spirit grows tall and powerful. PAUSE… A delicate rain begins to fall, Refreshing you with its touch. You lift your face to the misty sky, Full of gratitude for nature’s welcome. PAUSE… Your attention turns to the cottage before you, Your heart longs to feel its embrace. You walk inside and build a fire, A bright blaze to make you snug and warm. They’ll hold your hand, And calm your mind, And release from you any fright.  PAUSE… Feel their tiny hands upon you, Soothing your body right now, Their healing energy enters your skin, And brings you deep into the now. PAUSE… You feel the waves of blue, And splashes of green, Coloring the space of your dreams. PAUSE… She calls you to surrender,  Your ego at the door.  She asks you to let go of, Who you’ve been before.  PAUSE… Your best self calls upon you, She whispers in your ear. She wants you to be able, To live not ruled by fear.  PAUSE… So come inside and find your breath,  And feel the fateful pull. She waits for you to make a choice, To live your life so full.  My best self knows when to move, And when to take a rest.  She’s aware of all my boundaries,  But pushes me past my best.  PAUSE… She always knows the larger truth, What I can’t always see.  I am capable of so much more, So many possibilities beyond me. LONG PAUSE… If I sit down and tell the truth, I often keep her at bay.  I ignore her voice inside of me, And excuse the thoughts away.  PAUSE… Because what she says quite often feels, Like impossible tasks and chores. Not only will they test me,  For others, they may cause wars.  PAUSE… There’s a mix of fear and wonder, That others have when they, See you as your best self, Creating your own world today.  PAUSE… On one hand, some will marvel, At how you blow past your goals.  On the other, some will hate you, For exposing their own holes. PAUSE… But as time passes, you will know, That your best self is wise.  You’ll see that all of that, Is noise above which you rise.  LONG PAUSE… Your best self only wants, For you to live life your way. LONG PAUSE Let all the clamor  of the day and the responsibilities and stress fall off you like water and then evaporate. LONG PAUSE And draw in one more deep breath and let it go, centering on  your third eye, the space between your eyes. LONG PAUSE Now, envision walking on a hilly sidewalk in San Francisco with a brisk breeze nuzzling your cheeks. PAUSE On each side of you are glorious Victorian homes, in all pastels  like an artist’s palette. PAUSE Curling around the homes are gorgeous bay windows  that catch the sunlight, and where you see couples sit and chat and school girls read. PAUSE As you reach the top of the hill, you see ice blue water in the distance, and hear the sound of a cable car passing. PAUSE Children on the cable car wave to you,  and you marvel at  the young man who jumps off  and pulls the lever  to stop. PAUSE You board the cable car and find a seat on a brown wooden bench, just as a man calls, “All clear!” PAUSE Along the way,  the cable car stops at the  green dragon gates of Chinatown, and a group of  women board. PAUSE The women quietly chatter, oblivious to anyone else, their voices thick with vowel sounds that cut off quickly. PAUSE As the cable car comes to a stop, you get off and walk to the end of a pier where a herd of sea lions  stretches across the rocks. PAUSE The shiny black males bark and bob their heads up and down for emphasis. PAUSE While gazing at the creatures, a slender, tan female with dark eyes like magic pools catches your attention. PAUSE She lifts her head from a baby seal that is nestled close to her body and gazes directly at you. . PAUSE For a moment, you both watch each other, with a feeling of understanding passing between you. PAUSE A male calls for her, and the female returns  her attention to her herd, with her baby cuddling even closer. You can’t help but smile. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, closing your eyes and being transported from the pier to Golden Gate Park. PAUSE As you open your eyes, you find yourself right in front of  the pagoda of  the Japanese Tea Garden. PAUSE Your eyes climb the five-storied tiers of the pagoda, each fanning out in a beautiful red.  PAUSE As you gaze at the beautiful structure, the energy of the pagoda seems to reach out to you, and fill you with heightened perception. PAUSE  An awareness of all  that is around you, the natural beauty of the trees and lakes and the tea garden itself, fills your being. PAUSE You draw in a deep breath and decide to have a cup of tea in the garden and bask in this incredible awareness of nature. PAUSE The tea, a warm lifeblood, streams into your body, soothing it. PAUSE After tea,  you meander through the park until you come to paddock with a small herd of bison, which you had heard lived in the park. PAUSE The great  chocolate and auburn creatures graze and snort until one with a tuft of fuzzy dark hair  piled on her head spies you. PAUSE The female stands  mighty and strong. Power oozes from her core,and she inspires awe in you.  PAUSE After a moment, the female bison approaches at a steady and deliberate pace, close enough to look at you with her dark, rich eyes. Your remedy will soon reveal itself, Nature knows best, even when you’re unsure. PAUSE… Whatever defines your special place, Be it water, trees, or sand. Pull its magic into your core, Taking healing by the hand.   Take a breath and feel the pain ebb, feel what you need returned. Exhale and hold onto your peaceful state, let your vitality seep back in. LONG PAUSE… Even if you weren’t aware Of what, if anything, could be wrong. Life takes its toll, and wears us out, And drowns out our cheerful song. PAUSE… Nature gives that song back to you, You need only make the time. Visit often, with sincere intent, And your soul will feel sublime. PAUSE… Choose a number of special places, Destinations for your awareness. Choose one whenever your spirit’s out of sorts, And let earth’s gifts lead you back to wellness. PAUSE… Let Nature’s power activate the power in you, Make use of the beauty it offers. So you can breathe deeply into peaceful sleep.  So go ahead and let yourself settle into your bed,  Getting yourself into your most favorite sleeping position. And take your first deep breath in, filling your chest and belly with the fresh air of the evening,  And on your exhale, release out any tension you may be feeling in your body. Another deep breath in, expanding with nourishing oxygen, And exhale the heaviness. Last deep breath in, filling your belly as much as you can, And then let all the air out and fall deeper into your position. Bring your breathing to its natural, easy rhythm, And just be here for a bit, Aware of the natural slowing down of your breath, The slowing down of your heartbeat, The slowing down of your mind. Breathe… PAUSE… Thoughts may begin popping up, Wanting to invade your mind with visions of things to worry about, Tasks to finish, Even deep fears to feel.  Just observe as these thoughts or visions arrive, And see if you can imagine moving them from out of your mind into an open, empty room. One by one, imagine yourself moving these thoughts into this room, shutting the door behind you each time you leave one. Move those thoughts, Place them in the room, Releasing their power, Releasing the pain, Releasing the tension, Releasing the anxiety. Breathe it all out of you, And feel yourself melt further into your bed.  PAUSE… Now imagine yourself approaching the door to this room. Your mind is relaxed and you feel safe, knowing all of the thoughts, emotions and anxieties are outside of you and in this room. As the door opens, you look inside the room. And instead of it being full of everything you had just placed there, Instead, you see yourself sitting on the floor.  This is you as a little child.   She’s anxious. Scared.  And the embodiment of all those worries and emotions you just placed here. PAUSE… Your body immediately fills with compassion for this little girl, for yourself.  So you slowly approach her, sit down, And embrace her with tenderness and love.  It’s okay, you hear yourself saying to her. Everything’s going to be okay. This moment is all there is and right now, you are safe, lying in your bed, listening to these words and surrounded by love. She melts in your arms and surrenders to you. Let it go, my love, you say. You are safe. And everything is already okay. It’s time to sleep. Let me hold you as you give yourself to the night,  Trusting she will hold you with care, just as I am, And deliver you to the morning peacefully. PAUSE… Let it go. Let it calm and relax. LONG PAUSE Breathe again, and imagine a beautiful woven basket gently scooping up any distracting thoughts and carrying them away. LONG PAUSE Feel your body relaxing even more deeply with each breath. Take a moment  to lavish in the calm. LONG PAUSE While basking in the serenity, imagine seeing a tiny, twinkling light out of the corner of your eye. like a miniature sparkler, dancing, shimmering and flowing like a fountain of light. PAUSE After a few moments, the light takes shape, and a small, luminous figure appears: A fairy. PAUSE For a moment, Just look at the fairy. See her golden hair cascading in light. Notice her clothes made of leaves and petals, And see her wand aglow with magical light. PAUSE The fairy smiles at you, and you feel a wave of trust embed in your heart. “I’m Aya. Come with me,” she whispers. You know you can follow this fairy anywhere. PAUSE Aya sweeps her arms through the air, and a path of golden stardust appears. Then, the fairy cups her hands and gently blows fairy dust toward you. Magically, you rise from the bed, able to fly as nimbly as the fairy. PAUSE Together, you and Aya fly on the stardust path, into the night, past the houses and buildings, past bridges and waterways, until you reach the woods. The fairy pauses at the edge of the woods. “Are you ready for an adventure?” she whispers. You nod, feeling excitement and wonder. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, taking the fairy’s hand and sailing into the woods. Tall trees light up as you pass them. Flowers and bushes glow when the fairy flies by. And, what you once thought  was a quiet forest, is now alive in the most magical way. PAUSE Aya takes you to a large tree stump that immediately radiates with light as soon as you pause there. Minutes later,  dozens of tiny sparkler lights appear. Fairies of all shapes and sizes surround you with smiles and light. “Learn from them,” Aya whispers. PAUSE A group of fairies approach. They wave their wands, and you fly with them deep into the bowels of the woods. PAUSE Imagine now, that when you and the fairies stop, Out of the black of night a magical workshop appears. As you look closer,  you see this workshop has bits of damaged trees, shrubs and flowers in it. And the fairies are working on them. PAUSE One fairy with a round face and jolly laugh nods at you, beckoning you to follow him. He picks up a mended flower, and together, you fly to plant missing its beautiful flower. The fairy waves his wand and the mended flower adheres to the plant, in full bloom. Then you and the fairy return to the others. PAUSE Another group of fairies welcomes you to follow them. And together, you fly through the forest, until you reach a small house nestled in the heart of the forest. PAUSE You and the fairies enter the house in silence while a family sleeps. The fairies go to the kitchen, where there is noticeably little food, and with a wave of their wands they fill the barren cabinets  With bread, vegetables and wine. They fill a pot with stew, ready for the family to heat up when they wake up. Then they leave, as silently as they came. PAUSE Back in the woods with the fairies, Aya meets you and you know that your time with the fairies  has come to an end. You thank the fairies  for all their hospitality and sharing. And you and Aya fly home on the stardust path. Feel the rising and falling of your belly and chest.  Surrender to the slowing rhythms of your body, Letting it pull you deeper into this moment, Grateful for this breath, Grateful for this body, Grateful for this life.  PAUSE… Breathe… And feel it all slow down, As you come deeper into your body, Sinking yourself further into the sea of blankets around you. PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine the soft, warm touch of the night lay itself on the crown of your head. Like a comforting, glowing hand resting itself upon you. Feel the warmth enter your head, And calm you. Any thoughts that are floating around in your head quickly dissolve as the hand of the night calms you down.  PAUSE… Now, feel the soothing glow of the night spread into your face, Relaxing your eyes, Your cheeks,  Your jaw, And your lips. Breathe out, And release, As the night calms you down.  PAUSE… Invite the soft, glowing hand of the night to rest on your neck and your shoulders, Feeling the warmth spread itself deep into the muscles and joints. Relieving all the stress and anxiety you might be holding there. Exhale,  And release it all. PAUSE… Welcome the tender hands of the night as they caress your arms, Your chest, And your belly, Softening everything it touches,  Calling you to fall deeper into her arms, Deeper into the night.  PAUSE… You are safe here, Cherished and nurtured by the stillness of the night. She’s here to guide you as you sleep tonight, Calming you, Restoring you, Loving you. PAUSE… So feel the calming, glowing hands of the night softly touch your upper back, And travel slowly down your spine. One vertebrae at a time,  Releasing the pressure,  Relaxing the muscles,  And melting you further into your bed.  PAUSE… Breathe… And feel the soothing hands of the night rest upon your hips, Your thighs, Your legs, And your feet. Let yourself feel the glow of the night’s energy as it comes down, Down,  Down your body, Letting all those pieces of the day release from you with every breath out. And with beauty as arresting as the sunset, Why not enjoy it as often as you can.   Take a deep breath and let your mind float, let it ride on a wave of color. Exhale and feel like part of the splendor, aware of the sun’s power in you. LONG PAUSE… In addition the magnificence, Lessons linger in the sunset. There’s more to see than a painted sky, More to consider than a stunning show.   PAUSE… The sun tells you when to power down, When to literally call it a day. You’ve made one more trip through your busy world, And you deserve to tuck in and rest.   PAUSE… You likely did your best to shine, To warm everyone in your circle. When night comes, it’s time to recoup All that you shared with others.   PAUSE… The sun is fortunate to have a friend, A partner in its daily cycle. The moon is there to do its part, To step in and support the natural order. PAUSE… Think about who does the same for you, The person who steps in when you’re tired. Whether that’s you or somebody else, Give thanks for the respite they provide.   PAUSE… It’s no small gift to be part of a team, Even if that team ends up being small. Protecting your boundaries is important work, And it matters when someone answers the call.   PAUSE… There’s a rhythm to everything under the sun, Even for the sun itself. Just like the dance between night and day, There’s a method to keeping yourself in balance.   PAUSE… It’s all about listening to that inner voice, To the intuition that won’t lead you astray. Follow the path that feels right for you, And honor the spirit’s need to shut down.   Inhale and feel the rightness in all, in the patterns and cadence that guide you. Exhale and know that you’re on the right track, that even the sun and moon support you. LONG PAUSE… Sink deeper into self as you picture the moon, The way it waits in the sky for its cue. Perfectly choreographed by nature itself, The changing of the guard is seamless.   PAUSE… Transitions can happen that way for you too. You can slide from one state to another. Just trust in the process and accept when it’s time, And you’ll find yourself gracefully changing. PAUSE… When you accept the way of things, You, too, can shine like the sunset.
